| Comments: | Seller says: "… this old & rare blue glass bulb made by ADÈS for the C.G.T. (Compagnie Generale Transatlantique) Frenchline of ships. When I procured this bulb I was informed that this was one of many types of lamps that was used on the SS Normandie which was a French built Massive/Luxury cruise ship. I did some searching on it and found that the ship had its maiden voyage May 29th,1935 & was operated through 1940 when the U.S. seized it from the French and modified it into a troop ship. It had a huge dining hall with large swanky chandeliers as well as nightclub areas, pool, etc., so this type of bulb was used wherever some color enhancement was needed. It runs on 230 volts and printed on the BC-22 base I think the wattage is 15w. ADÈS & C.G.T. are printed there too. The sleeve has ADÈS on it and I tried to research it, but found nothing pertaining to the bulb." |
